Shoulder Arthroscopy

Shoulder Arthroscopy

Shoulder arthroscopy is a minimally invasive surgical procedure utilized to diagnose and treat a variety of shoulder conditions. At Dr. Isaac Bone & Joint Speciality Hospital, our expertise in shoulder arthroscopy allows us to effectively address issues such as rotator cuff tears, labral tears, shoulder impingement, and shoulder instability. This procedure involves making small incisions around the shoulder joint through which a specialized instrument called an arthroscope is inserted. The arthroscope contains a camera and lighting system, providing the surgeon with a clear view of the inside of the shoulder joint on a monitor.

Once the problem areas are identified, the surgeon can use additional instruments inserted through the incisions to perform necessary surgical procedures. These may include repairing torn tendons of the rotator cuff, stabilizing the labrum, removing bone spurs or damaged tissue to alleviate impingement, or addressing shoulder instability by tightening ligaments.

One of the significant advantages of shoulder arthroscopy is its minimally invasive nature, resulting in smaller incisions, reduced postoperative pain, faster recovery times, and decreased risk of complications compared to traditional open surgery.

Patients undergoing shoulder arthroscopy typically go home the same day as the surgery and begin rehabilitation exercises shortly afterward to improve shoulder strength and range of motion. At Dr. Isaac Bone & Joint Speciality Hospital, our team of orthopedic surgeons and shoulder specialists is dedicated to providing personalized care throughout the entire process. We utilize advanced techniques and state-of-the-art equipment to ensure optimal outcomes and help patients regain function and mobility in their shoulders. If you are experiencing shoulder pain, instability, or limited range of motion, we encourage you to schedule a consultation with one of our specialists to discuss whether shoulder arthroscopy may be an appropriate treatment option for you. We are committed to providing compassionate care and innovative solutions to help you achieve relief and return to your active lifestyle.
